Lavar Munroe

Lavar Munroe was born in Nassau, Bahamas. He holds a BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design. He studied at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and holds an MFA in Studio Art from Washington University St. Louis. Lavar's work has been featured in numerous exhibitions, both in the United States and abroad. In 2014 during his 2-year Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of North Carolina, Munroe exhibited at the Nasher Museum at Duke University. An installation of his work is currently on view in All the World's Futures at the Venice Biennale. Munroe is the 2015 Joan Mitchell Artist in Residence in New Orleans, LA.
